Greenock West and Gourock: Community ConversationYour Community
Recent engagement has highlighted the community members are unaware of how to be more involved in their local community in relation to having their say.
- We want to hear what would be the best way to promote opportunities to you?
- What would encourage you to be more involved
- What barriers exist in relation to having your say!

Lots of parking issues on Albert Road which are causing safety concerns (Coppermine Your Voice Warm Space 10/02/25) PF
If i need to get to an appointment at Inverclyde Royal Hospital i need to either get 4 buses or 2 taxis which is not cost effective (Coppermine Your Voice Warm Spaces 10/02/25) PF
It would be a good idea to offer bike hire at Gourock Train station like they do in Glasgow (Coppermine Your Voice Warm Spaces 09/02/25) PF
There is a lack of buses in the area which can mean your trapped in your own home there should be more companies that run on the routes in Gourock (Coppermine Your Voice Warm Space 09/02/25) PF
The timings of meetings don't suit and i don't use social media very well a quick summary of what's been discussed would be helpful in a newsletter and given to groups in the local area (Coppermine Your Voice- Warm Spaces 09/02/25) PF

I think the best way to promote opportunities would be through social media and through poster engagement especially in community spaces.

I think there should be a wider range of college courses because right now the courses are all the same and re-runs, i think the courses are declining in terms of quality.

I would be happy to be involved in my community and activities surrounding it. Social media does a good job of promoting this.
I am a part of the LD community and i am fortunate that there is a lot of places to attend.

Online promotion seems to be the most accessible form of communication for me, there would be a higher chance of me seeing it on social media but i understand this is not the same for everyone. Through work I am already quite involved, but further info being available never hurts and I would be willing to get involved with the other opportunities, if made available.

- The best way to promote to me is leaflet drops through doors / attending social events / community centres
- I believe transport is a big incentive to get people involved in the community (there should be a subsidy for travel / a paid bus for activities)
- There should be a group for people to gain confidence / social skills so they can get involved in more activities.
