  • Comment from Volunteer: " I think the families that attend group are getting so much out of it, I watch friendships form and children learn new things each week, but it's also great fun."

    • Comment from family: " I love coming to group, and so does my son. Quite often Home-Start bring other services in to meet us, it's helped me learn about other support available to us"

        • Comments from family: "Coming to group is great, I found it hard as a first time mum and being able to talk to others in the same position in a judgement free space has made a real difference on how I am feeling."

          • Comment from family: " I really appreciate that we have the choice to pick what we want. It's great to have hot food provided, but I really like that we are able to choose what we would like to have."

              • Comment from family: "On the busy days I kind of live of the kids left overs as with having two young children making time to cook for myself just doesn't happen very often. I love coming to group as I know I have lots of support from the volunteers and staff and I can actually eat something that was made for me...and its still hot!"

                • Volunteer: "For a lot of the parents and children attending group a hot roll provided by home-start might be the only hot food they have all day. It is invaluable."

                  • Comment from volunteer: " For most of our parents this can be the only time in the week the parents get to have something made for them and can enjoy the time to relax and actually eat a hot roll. A little bit of tlc for them. In fact, it could be the first time the parents have been able to get something to eat at all! Full tummies equals happy parents and kids, and it brings the parents together around the table to chat. An absolutely essential part of the group I think."
