The warm spaces Hands of friendship has been a Godsend to many people particularly in the area of Gourock which is often mistaken for an affluent area where there are also areas of great social need. The Coppermine community Centre and the Coppermine Cafe offers a safe place for everyone to come together and share some home made hot food, sandwiches tea coffee without fear of an unexpected bill. The offer of friendly chat and meeting with old or new friends is one of the great successes in the last few years running year round. All the volunteers are motivated by the great joy in encouraging social interactions and reducing social isolation particularly in the winter months in a warm welcoming environment . Gourock has limited locations that are suitable for all to attend from fully mobile attendees to people requiring assistance. The Coppermine Community Centre are grateful for your consideration and ongoing support in this much needed Free to all Cafe.

Myself and my elderly neighbour fully support this essential community warm space resource. Operated entirely by incredible volunteers it provides a wonderful welcoming, friendly space where people can enjoy hot food and drinks, meet new friends and have an opportunity to counter social isolation. As a local council tax payer, I fully support the grant sought for this fantastic, popular initiative.

It is a fantastic opportunity to have community groups supporting others within the local area, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation. Having a welcoming space where people can come together, connect with others, and enjoy some hospitality is invaluable. This initiative also highlights the potential of the Scout Hall to serve as a hub for the community, fostering a sense of connection not only to the local Scout group but also to the wider community itself.

The Coppermine Community Centre is a fantastic resource and has become a very popular space with the local community, young and old. This funding is invaluable to the provision of activities through the winter period.

The volunteers at the scouts are providing a much needed service to the community. They have proven that they can do great things with the funding so I hope that this continues.
