An essential resource reaching out to many vulnerable people within our community. Providing a warm space, friendliness, support and playing its part in tackling social isolation and improving people's wellbeing. I have been many times and would like to pay credit to the incredible volunteers who make this space happen. As a local council tax payer I fully support the funding sought and would hope that it will receive the funding it seeks in order to continue its vital work.

The activities outlined here will enhance provision of warm, social spaces in Gourock. St John’s has reached out to a wide variety of users and provides inclusive, supportive activities which build on social connections and offer activities which combat loneliness and isolation. The church works hard to make ties in Gourock and I’m sure this funding would benefit the community.

The amount of different groups using this community resource is amazing. This grant will enable more people to get access to a warm space, eat fab soup and meet new and old friends in a safe, welcoming and inclusive space.

Giving funding to St John's Church will help them to continue with their various community events. Bowl and Blether is very well attended by a wide and diverse members of the community. It provides a warm space for people to meet socially and also to create connections with others that they might never have met. It helps tackle issues of loneliness and creates community.

St John's Bowl & Blether is a pivotal part of, not just Gourock, but the wider area. It invites many different types of people to gather in a safe, warm space and allows people to feel less lonely. Awarding this grant to such a worth while project is highly recommended in order that the church can continue and expand their community outreach.

A wide variety of individuals attend these events and are helping to strengthen community spirit and connections. It is great seeing people from all around coming together and enjoying a simple meal and spending time talking in a warm space during the Bowl & Blether days in particular.
